Abstract: The invention is suitable for the field of medical apparatuses and discloses a method and a system for improving pitch sensing ability of an artificial cochlea. The method for improving the pitch sensing ability of the artificial cochlea includes a base frequency (F0) processing process and a loudness regulating process, wherein the base frequency (F0) processing process includes that extracting a real-time base frequency (F0) from a gathered sound signal, substituting the extracted base frequency (F0) into a pre-generated 'F0-sound level mapping function S (F0)', calculating to obtain an S(F0) function value, substituting the S(F0) function value into a formula, and calculating to obtain a gain function value; the loudness regulating process includes that multiplying the gain function value with a signal to be regulated so as to regulate the loudness of a time domain sound signal. The method and system for improving the pitch sensing ability of the artificial cochlea are capable of improving the pitch sensing ability of an artificial cochlea user in the aspects of melody, pronunciation and intonation, Chinese tone and the like through processing the base frequency (F0) and using the base frequency for the loudness regulation when the pitch sensing ability of the user is low.
